Carlton take their six game unbeaten run to third placed Corby this weekend in another massive test for the Millers.
The Steelmen have a good record at home in this early part of the campaign. They’ve only lost twice. They also score plenty with only 5 sides finding the target more so far this season. Corby are recovering from a blip in the last few games however. Two losses and two draws earlier in the month have been improved with back to back wins including a 101st minute winner against Belper in a 2-1 win midweek. The home side were beaten play off finalists last season and will doubtless be looking to build on this recent positive momentum.
Carlton won their fifth game of the month against Rugby Borough on Tuesday. They top the league table and the form table but the season has barely begun in reality, this is a good start though. Central to the progress is conceding the second fewest goals in the division as well as well as having the second best away record in the league. Both these will be put under the microscope at Steel Park. The last time these teams met here, in the 21/22 season, the home side ran out 2-1 winners.
A positive start to the month here could prove vital for these sides as they try and lift themselves away from the teams amassing just below them in this highly competitive league.
