After a midweek postponement, Carlton are back on the road this weekend to take on Coventry Sphinx at the Cameron Slater Arena.
The home side started the league campaign superbly and they were atop the division after an unbeaten run lasting until 20th September when they suffered their first defeat against St Neots and that was only due to a 92nd minute winner for their visitors.
Since then, Sphinx lost twice more and only collected one win in October and, so far in November just the one win at the start of the month against Basford so have the league position of 10th with 26 points from their 18 games played. They stopped a run of back to back losses with a draw against Long Eaton but only two sides are presently in a worse run of form. Coventry don’t have a great record at home either with only three wins from the eight played.
Carlton recorded their biggest league win of the season last Saturday as they hit five past Sutton Coldfield Town. Lamin Manneh and Ash Chambers both bagged a brace with the latter now up to 10 league goals this year. The Millers have an excellent away record with seven wins from nine played and only one loss in that time. They are six points clear at the summit but at such an early stage of the season there is no room for complacency.
