Thanks to all those who for voted for us

Unfortunately Carmel missed out on significant funding from North Wales Police after losing in a public vote.

The club had hoped to secure a sizable grant to fund free places on the ECB's All Stars and Dynamos national programmes for children who would otherwise not be able to afford to attend.

"The standard of applications received this year was very high, and we received a tremendous response to the public vote with almost 30,000 votes being cast," said Dave Evans of North Wales Police.

"We regret to advise that Carmel's project did not receive sufficient votes to secure funding."

Carmel chairperson Andrew Abraham thanked all of those people who took the time to vote for the club.

He added: "The funding would have given the club a four-figure sum to help provide cricket for children from disadvantaged backgrounds for the next three years, but unfortunately we missed out.

"Despite this setback it is appropriate that we thank those people who took the time and effort to vote for us online."
