Ieuan Jones hit an unbeaten 37 as Carmel's 3rd XI suffered a nine-wicket defeat to Llandudno in a rain-affected match.

Carmel were poised to post a competitive total at 111-4 after 27 overs before rain wiped out the rest of their innings.

Openers Harry Rogers (16) and Noah Murray-Jones (19) got Carmel of to a fine start with their top scores of 2021.

Connor Hughes (12) and Amer Jamil (10) also chipped in with useful runs but Jones's knock was the backbone of the innings before the heavens opened.

After a two-hour rain delay Llandudno managed to knock of the total in 15 overs for the loss of one wicket, captured by Josh John (1-37)
