This weekend has been confirmed as a double header fixture - we entertain Thornton Cleveleys 2nds in the quarter final of the Shield and following discussions with the league committee - the game will also be a 4 North league game - this enables the league to catch up following the bad weather postponements.
The game saturday will show how far Carnforth have come over the last 18 months as we face a strong challenge in Thorntons 2nds. The Thornton club went through what we did a few years ago but they have bounced back stronger than ever - their first team are going well in the RFU Lancashire leagues whilst the 2nds have a good chance of promotion as well as shield aspirations. We have yet to play them this season (bad weather) but it is expected to be a keenly contested affair.
A decent crowd is expected with the England v Ireland game in the clubhouse afterwards followed by Jacks 21st later in the evening.
Peter Harrison will be in charge of the fixture - we welcome Peter along with the Thornton players, officials and supporters back to the clubhouse afterwards.
Kick off is at 215pm.
