Carniny u9s played in the Larne Sevens reaching the semi final only to be knocked out on penalties.

Carniny started the day slowly with a 0-0 draw against Bertie Peacocks. The next match against Eddie Irvine showed some improvement when they won 1-0 with a cool finish from Scott Hunter.
The next match ended in another 0-0 draw against eventual winners of the competition Magherafelt Sky Blues.

After a convincing 5-0 win against Larne with goals from Mearns (2) Stewart, White and Lynas this secured their semi final place.
They semi final saw Carniny run Castle Juniors very close and could have secured their place in the final when Mearns hit the post with 30 secs to go. It was not to be Carniny’s day when they eventually lost 3-1 on penalties. This was a great effort by the league champions and deserved more for their efforts.

They now head to Scotland to play in the Easter festival in Ayr. We wish them all the best.
