CARNINY AMATEUR & YOUTH FC MATCH REPORTS

Highlights for the club this week was at both ends of the recruiting ladder with the 'senior' team progressing to the Quarter finals of the Zala Cup with a 3-1 win over Randalstown Ramblers in the Ballymena Saturday Morning League whilst at the youngest level the under 8s commenced games in the IFA run small sided games programme at Ballymena Showgrounds putting in impressive performances.

SAINT OLIVER PLUNKETT 3-0 CARNINY A&YFC 16s
An understrength Carniny lost in monsoon conditions at Mallusk although their players deserve credit for playing in unusually poor 'May' weather which seemed more like winter than spring!

CARNINY A&YFC 14s 0-2 COACHING FOR CHRIST
The under 14s played Coaching for Christ in terrible conditions at Wakehurst. Unfortunately, they had a poor performance and never really got going losing 2-0 to a goal each half from their neighbours.

CARNINY AMATEURS 12s 2-2 MAGHERAFELT SKY BLUES

CARNINY YOUTH 12s 0-5 CRUMLIN UTD

MAGHERAFELT SKY BLUES 1-2 CARNINY A&YFC 11s
Another great performance from the 11s making it two wins out of two. McCloy and O'Dwyer defending from the front chased everything and caused Magherafelt to make mistakes. Carniny did go one down in the first half but came out battling in the second period and drew level from O'Dwyer. Full back for Carniny, Custis Gregg earned all three points for his side scoring following a corner mid way through the second half.

CARNINY A&YFC 9s V BALLYMENA YOUTH ACADEMY
Played two friendly games at Ballymena Showgrounds in preparation for the forthcoming IFA Small Sided Games event and will be looking forward to kicking off this Friday evening. Carniny thank Ballymena for hosting Saturdays two games.

CARNINY 8s AMATEURS V MAGHERAFELT, NORTH END, BUFC, GLENS UTD and STAR UTD
Carniny put in a super performance in all their games against the opposition on the night and all their players were impressive making it hard to single out anyone in particular. Well done to all the players for their hard work and determination.

CARNINY 8s YOUTH V GLENS UTD, NORTH END, BUFC, MAGHERAFELT and LARNE LADIES
The younger of the Carniny sides had an enjoyable evening and for a few they were playing their first 'competitive' game. Well done to all who will be looking forward to the next set of fixtures.

APRIL TEAM OF THE MONTH
The past months 'McDonalds' TEAM OF THE MONTH award goes to the clubs under 14 side who started off well at the re-commencement of football. The team are looked after by Ryan Burnett, Colin Turtle and Denvir Gregg and are looking forward to getting more games under their belt.
