Carniny met Antrim Rovers at Crumlin 3G for a top of the table clash in a game that could decide the 1st division winners. The game was a tense affair with both teams showing grit and determination neither giving an inch, Carniny were causing Antrim problems with their intensity and Clarke, Blair, Farenden and Byrne not giving the Antrim defenders time to settle. Carniny came close when Joe Blair latched on to a Kennedy cross and it rebounded off both posts before the keeper gathered it up. Antrim were dangerous on the break but Devine, Duddy, Kelly and Dael were working as a tight unit protecting Hanna in nets. Neither team gave an inch and the midfield battle was intense with Young, Kennedy, Byrne and Farenden battling for every ball and this paid off when Farenden fired a high lob of a shot at the keeper and followed it through and the keeper fumbled it and Farenden scored, 1 nil after 30 minutes, halftime 1nil.

The second half was more of the same with Antrim putting Carniny under a lot of pressure once again the defence stood firm and kept Antrim at bay. Carniny were dangerous on the break with Clarke and Blair dangerous on the counter attack and forced a serious of corners and a Blair inswinging corner hit the crossbar and bounced to safety, both teams never stopped the whole match both working 120% but it was the wee reds of Carniny who held on for a well deserved victory to put them joint top with a game in hand.
