Carniny started in fine fashion, keeping possession of the ball. A cross from the left hand side caused trouble with Sam Bell pouncing on it to make it 1-0. Carniny continued to pressure with dangerous wide play. Eventually one of the balls dropped to Marcus Rodgers on the edge of the box, who struck the ball sweetly for 2-0. Ballynahinch began to press higher, creating a few problems in behind. Carniny kept calm, working the ball from left to right, Tyler Barr whipped in a gorgeous cross which was controlled and finished by Marc Faulkner, 3-0.

After half time, Ballynahinch began to look more dangerous. But Carniny held their line. Tyler Boyd stepped out of defence, hitting a shot, low into the bottom corner. Ballynahinch pulled one back, when their number 10 pounced and finished nicely. Carniny continued to create, Billy Bell followed up from close range after another dangerous cross wasn’t dealt with.
