Carniny started the brightest in this game taking it to Sirocco and after 7 mins in had taken the lead when Matthew O'Flaherty floated a 35 yard free kick into the box and a Sirocco defender could only head into his own net. Six minutes later Jonathan Cummings went one on one with the keeper, trying a lob that just wasn't high enough. Craig Greene was called on for a goal line clearance at the other end and the Amateurs survived a glancing shot off the upright. Sirocco got themselves back into the game on thirty mins when their number 9 worked across the goal a shot home from the edge of the box. Sirocco gained a bit of momentum towards the break but there were no more goals in the half.
Carniny restored their lead on the hour when a Barry Simpson free kick was floated into the box and Dean Wright was on hand as it fell to him inside the six yard box. Their lead was short lived as 3 mins later Sirocco equalised when a long cross from the left found their number 11 at the back post to head back across the goal into the net. Both teams pressed for the winner in the atrocious conditions with Jonathan Cummings header bouncing off the keeper and Jake Armstrong at the other end with a goal line clearance, but their were no more goals in normal time. It was Sirocco who got the winner when a rare mistake let their number 8 in to score the winning goal in the tie.
