Carniny were forced to 'shuffle the pack' for this game on a wet night at the Showgrounds.
However they started this game at a high tempo when only two minutes in Jonny Cummings forced the keeper into a good save with Steven Spence on hand with the rebound only to see it rebound off the post. Despite their fast start the home side began to lose their way a couldn't seem to get the ball flowing for themselves. As a result St Comgall's got themselves back into the game, but it remained 0-0 at the break.
Carniny went ahead 7 minutes into the second half when Barry Simpson stepped up to score a penalty. but St Comgall's fought back to equalise. A mistimed tackle in the Carniny box meant St Comgall's were awarded a penalty at the other end but Adam Barr was in top form between the sticks to force the spot kick wide. 1-1 FT
