The match was only a minute old when Lloyd White put the home side ahead in this game when he scores from a corner. Shortly after a defensive error allowed St Comgall's to equalise. Carniny were playing some neat football in the first half put just couldn't put the final touches to increase their lead with Gary taggart seeing his header hit the post and roll along the goal line before being cleared away. They did however break the deadlock when Danny McComb crossed for Dean Dunlop to score on 42 mins. Just a minute later they were 3-1 up when Dunlop sent John Costello through to cross in for Benji Agnew to head home.
Carniny came out in the same vein in the second half saw Dean Dunlop hit the post and rebounded back out for him to set Danny McComb up for Carniny's fourth. The fifth came from a Cameron Waring shot which rebounded out nicely for James Price to score. The same player got his second when he was put through on goal and made no mistake in slotting past the keeper for 6-1. Barry Simpson rounded off the goals when he latched on to a poor clearance and fired home.
