The seniors tasted defeat today in what was considered a poor performance. Southside took the lead from a high hopeful ball which the defence didn't deal with and created a goal from a kick out. Neither side were impressive but Southside were the better team in the first half. The referee gave a penalty with ten to the break for a foul which the sideline felt was neither in the box or a foul and this saw Carniny 2-0 down at the break.
At the break some strong words from the management team and a shape change they quickly got a goal back as Aaron Johnston squared to David Johnston to reduce the deficit. Despite having more of the ball they couldn't find the equaliser and Southside looked dangerous on the counter and scored a decisive third to take the points.
We wish Southside FC the best of luck and congratulate them on their win until we meet again at Wakehurst. Next week we travel to Donaghadee FC in the Junior Shield.
