The Amateurs had a poor start in the first half and just couldn't seem to get a hold in the atrocious weather with the visitors having most chances but luckily for Carniny they weren't converted seeing the game goalless at the break.
In the second half defensive errors let Abbeyview in to take an early two goal lead. The home side didn't give up the chase and Matthew McComb reduced the deficit with a well taken strike past the View keeper. Minutes later Abbeview restored their two goal lead after converting a penalty. Once again Carniny got themselves back into the game with McComb looping a header over the keeper. The home side now pressed more and they drew level when John Costello was on hand after the keeper could only palm a shot out with Costello quickest to react to force home from close range. Just as it looked the game would end a draw Neil Stevenson crossed in from the left flank to find Chris Wilgaus who netted Carniny's fourth and the winning goal of the game, rounding off a great comeback from the Reds
