After the disappointment of having their first game of the season postponed, the seniors won their first league game of the season with a hard fought win over Broughshane. The match started at a high tempo but it was Carniny who broke the deadlock with Aidan Scullion crossing inside the box for Aaron Johnston to fire in off the left hand post to make it 1-0 on 12 mins. Raceview equalized on 26 mins when their forward broke through the Carniny defence to square the match. Niall Shannon pulled off a top corner save to deny the visitors a second with both teams level at the break.

The second half saw the visitors pressing for the winner and in the second period of the half had the home team on the back foot with a series of corners but the defence held strong and just as it looked the match would be a draw Philip Martin fed in Dawid Lallowski on the break who went one on one with the keeper and slotted home on 89 mins. There would be a large portion of added time but the home side held firm to see out the win.
