The first period was an evenly matched affair, played at a high tempo with both teams closing each other down very quickly. Keeper McNeilly kept the scores even during the match with a superb one handed save followed up with another equally good stop a few minutes later helping to keep the game scoreless at the break.
The second period saw the game open a little with Dunloy beginning to get on top. A a result they took the lead on 67 mins although four minutes later Carniny equalised when Dean Magill drove a low ball into the six yard box whick was turned into the Dunloy net by one of their own players. Carniny went on to concede a penalty a few mins later which was duly despatched with Dunloy wrapping up the points with a third on the hour.
