Carniny Amateurs produced their best performance of the year against another Dungiven U11 Rovers team on Saturday. Carniny set the pace from the whistle getting the ball moving on the deck and stretching the opposition. George Nicholson open the scoring with a powerful run from his own half holding off 3 challenges and finishing well. Carniny were two up after fine work from James Robinson caused the Dungiven defender to put the ball into his own net. Dungiven managed to pull a goal back before half time against the run of play. Robinson added a fine third goal demonstrating close control in the box and this led to a period of Carniny pressure that produced numerous chances without finding the net. Wylie and McAtamney at the back were in excellent form all day. Dungiven broke for a second goal but any thoughts of a comeback were finished when Conor Scullion found the net 5 min from time.
