Cashel RFC strengthened their position in AIL Division 2A with a crucial 31-13 bonus-point victory away to Ballymena on Saturday. A dominant display saw us extend our winning run, cementing our spot in the top two with just three rounds remaining in the league.
Cashel showed their class from the outset but were met with a determined Ballymena side, who kept the game tight in the first half. A narrow 7-6 lead at halftime reflected the physical battle, but Cashel shifted gears after the break. A four-try haul in the second half ensured a vital bonus point win
This result propels Cashel into 2nd place on 55 points, just behind leaders Instonians (66 points). The win also keeps them ahead of MU Barnhall (54) and Corinthians (53) in what is shaping up to be a thrilling race for a promotion playoff spot. With only three games left, every point matters in the battle for a home semi-final playoff.
