Lock Lane held onto a late lead to claim the points in a see-saw game. An early try by Nathan Fozzard converted by Danny Rowse was soon matched by 2 Pilkington tries. Fozzard and Rowse combined again before Pilks scored outwide from attacking flair. Mikey Hayward finished well on the 34th minutes as both sides went in level at 16 all. Early in the 2nd half tries by Adam Garlick and Ben Mawson, both converted by Rowse saw Lane open up a 12 point advantage. Again Recs pegged a try back by promoting the ball at every chance. Calum Butler scored in the 68th minute to which Rowse converted for Lane to lead 34-22. But Pilks weren't finished and a late 2 try salvo gave them a chance to peg level before a narrow missed conversion. Lane played the last minute out and Danny Rowse slotted a drop goal to end the scoring in an entertaining display punctuated by occasional ordinary defence.
