The Cardiff Combination League Sam Cornish Cup is facing a revised format for this Season.
The Cup, which is limited to sides in the League’s First and Second Divisions, is going to follow a similar format to the League structure for this Season, in that there will be 3 Qualifying Groups of 6 sides, with the Group Winners, along with the best Runner Up reaching the Semi Finals.
There are 6 seeded sides, 2 for each Qualifying Group, taken from Division D of Stage 2 of the League structure, with the remaining 12 sides being randomly drawn.
Cathays Cons 2nds have been drawn in a Group with seeded sides, Fairwater 2nds and Cardiff Sueno, fellow Division E sides, Cathays United and CSKA Sophia Gardens and Pontprennau Pumas from Division F.
Each team will only play each other once, on a shared pitch basis.
The 2nds met both Fairwater 2nds and Cardiff Sueno in the League Stage 1 Qualifying Group, losing out to both, whilst they have beaten Cathays United twice this season, and are yet to play CSKA Sophia Gardens in the League.
