Crusaders Touch, enjoy a laughter filled weekend in Blackpool!

Over the weekend Crusaders Touch Rugby team, sponsored by the Travaux Sports and Social, headed for the West Coast to take part in the Coast to Coast competition.
Like last year the chosen venue was Stanley Park in Blackpool and again, like last year, Crusaders intended to make the most of it.
With the late withdrawal of another team, on Friday, Crusaders were asked if they had enough to put out a second team. We did, just, so that meant everybody would get the maximum amount of game time ........ who needs subs anyway!!!!
Having all arrived at Stanley Park in good time Crusaders split themselves down evenly dished the shirts out, and got ready to go. Of course, it being September in Blackpool, the weather was "honking" and Crusaders were thankful of having brought Crusaders HQ (our gazeebo) to keep them out of the relentless rain when we weren't playing.
The none playing time banter within Crusaders HQ was as lively as ever, and often diverted the attention of other teams as Crusaders filled the air with howling laughter. We were, of course, there to play Touch Rugby League though and both teams played some great stuff. More often than not, results didn't favour us however, with no subs, in a fast paced sport, everybody was satisfied with their efforts.
The majority of the Touch squad had decided to stay for the weekend so having "team hugged" farewells to those Trans Pennine day trippers amongst us, the weekenders retreated to their digs for the 3 S's ....... Shower, Shave (where applicable) and Shortbread (from the complimentary tea and coffee tray, what did you think l was going to say!?!). Once cleaned up and changed, Crusaders hit the town and had a great evening in each others company.

Crusaders would like to thank the Travaux Sports and Social for their generous sponsorship, we will see you on Friday evening.

With the Coast to Coast series now concluded for another year, Crusaders Touch will switch focus back to building numbers at their social Touch session on a Friday evening at Robertson Rd. The sessions take place on the new astro turf at 6:30pm. Post match(es) there is a brew on the go and a chat. Sessions are just a £1 donation into the Charity Bucket.
