Charlbury Res 1-3 Carterton Res
After 5 weeks without football we were glad to be back out there playing and started the half on the front foot. After a couple of half chances we took the lead when a well timed cross from Liam aspey found Danny Brearley who volleyed home to make it 1-0.
5 minutes later it was 2-0 when Carl Williams held the ball up then spun his defender on the half way line, he ran like a lame horse to the 6 yard box and squared it to John Andrews who had a tap in...
Ht 2-0
Charlbury came out in the 2nd half looking to get back into the game and capitalised after some poor defending where Dom scored at the back stick.
Both teams battled hard and a red card was issued to Charlbury CB who appeared to stamp on Carl Williams hand.
30 seconds from time we were awarded a penalty when John Andrews shot was saved by Charlbury's CB and Joseph Langdon stepped up and converted into the far corner.
On to our second leg next week!
Motm: John Andrews
