Chadlington First Team recorded back to back wins in the League for only the second time this season in their penultimate game.
A 2-1 win was secured over Witney Royals via goals from Matt Chadwick and Jordan Godfrey. This was Chadwicks 10th and Godfreys 9th of the season so far.
The win lifts them to third in the league and improves on their points tally from last season with one remaining home game to go, next week against Eynsham SSC. They are now 3 points behind second place with a potential further 3 points due to them due to illegible players used by an opposition. However, teams around them have more games in hand on Chad and the league will depend on many head to head games yet to come.
Defeat for Royals means that along with Eynsham they are still battling against relegation to Division Two. On reflection during the game it seems like the pressure is getting to them but with 4 games to go they still have a fighting chance.
At the top of the table, leaders Stonesfield suffered another defeat. This time to second placed Moreton Rangers to keep the title open. With a 4 point advantage though, Stonesfield should still comfortably win the league.
Team: Bennett, Webb (c), Walker, Taylor, Hughes, Hazlewood, Morley, Harris, Woodward, Godfrey, Chadwick. Subs: Gray, Bayliss, Taylor Miles.
