Chairman Steve Jones writes in today's matchday programme.

Dear Chasetown FC Supporters,

Welcome back to The Scholars Ground. We are home!

It’s been a hugely busy time for Chasetown Football Club and I hope that today you will see the end result of what has been years of hard work behind the scenes.

Firstly, I extend my sincere gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering patience and support during the initial phase of the 2023/24 season. As you are aware, due to the various ground improvements, we found ourselves temporarily playing our home matches at Boldmere St Michaels. It has been a somewhat disrupted start, but the resilience and commitment displayed by the club's spirit, our dedicated staff, players, and coaching teams have been nothing short of stunning.

To those who made the extra effort to attend our home games at Boldmere, your commitment has not gone unnoticed. On behalf of the entire team, management, and board, I express our heartfelt thanks for your steadfast support. Additionally, our gratitude extends to Boldmere for their outstanding hospitality and cooperation during this challenging period. We have been fortunate to collaborate with such fabulous hosts.

The anticipation for our new 3G pitch at The Scholars Ground has been well worth the wait. The pitch exceeds all expectations, and it represents a significant milestone for Chasetown FC.

In conjunction with this major project, we have undertaken various improvements across the ground, including new toilet facilities, a revamped club shop, the inauguration of The Stag Bar and a raised viewing area, new railings encircling the pitch, and updated fencing around the entire ground.

Noteworthy changes have been implemented to enhance accessibility and user-friendliness, such as new walkways, split-level viewing areas, and more. These developments are part of a broader vision aimed at making the club a central hub for our community.

The foundations laid by the hard work of Mick Joiner and his team over the years have been integral to the club's solidity. The recent developments are a natural extension of that vision, ensuring that Chasetown FC remains future-proofed for years to come. With these enhancements, we can now proudly accommodate and nurture over 50 teams, providing a home for more than 750 men, women, boys, and girls.

Remember, it has always been and will continue to be "Your Club and Our Community." This vision and mantra guide us as we grow and evolve. Looking forward, I assure you that as a board, we remain committed to doing our very best to create a lasting legacy in our local community for generations to come.

Thank you for your continued support, and let's look forward to an exciting and successful future together.

Steve Jones
Chairman, Chasetown Football Club
