Chasetown won the first two league games for the first time since 2007 after coming from behind.
The visitors drew first blood after 5 minutes with Charles Knowles firing past Curtis Pond.
Chasetown almost levelled immediately. George Cater's shot was saved by Ashley Rawlins and the follow up shot from Owen Nolan was a whisker wide of the upright.
In the 43rd minute, Cater sprinted through the middle and lobbed Rawlins but also cleared the crossbar.
Chasetown were on the front foot again from the start of the second half and Jack Langston took the ball on his chest and drilled an effort inches wide of Rawlins right hand post.
Drayton had a gilt edged chance to make it 2-0 when Alex Melbourne under hit a back pass but Ibrahima Decoure fired over the bar.
Chasetown were getting ever closer and Liam Kirton's shot looped up and a back pedalling Rawlins palmed the ball onto the crossbar.
The goal finally came in the 64th minute. Alex Curtis curled a low ball to the edge of the 6 yard box and Langston thundered the ball home.
Chasetown seized the initiative and laid siege on the Drayton goal. Kirton outpaced the Town right back and fired into the side netting.
The Scholars deservedly took the lead ten minutes from time. Will Whieldon struck the ball hard and low into the danger area and Kirton flicked the ball beyond the keeper.
Rawlins denied sub Jack Dundas in stoppage time with a low save to his left.
