Updated: July 14, 2012
With a little over a week to go, here are some of the final updates to this year's PAT 7's Tournament. As of now, 52 of the 52 teams have registered & paid. The women's division was expanded to 20 teams, making it the largest women's bracket we've ever had, and the men's division has expanded twice to the largest it's ever been too. Other than that, directions to the tournament / camping site are listed below, as well as, more detailed information on the "Rugby Olympics" we're hosting as part of our 10th Year Anniversary. We hope everyone is looking forward to PAT 7's as much as we are and we'll see you next week!
Tournament Details:
This year's Pitch A Tent 7’s Tournament, hosted by the Nooga Rugby Club, is scheduled for Friday, July 20th and Saturday, July 21st outside of Chattanooga, TN at the always impressive Cherokee Farms in Lafayette, GA. Given it's the 10th Annual PAT 7's, our club has decided to add new & exciting themes & activities to make it the best yet.
The first is an homage to the upcoming 2012 Summer Olympics, where PAT 7's will host our own version of the Olympics during the Saturday night post-tourney social. Each team is allowed one entry into each event and gold medals will be awarded for 1st place in a women's & men's division.
Events:
6:00 - 6:30 pm Olympic Belly-Flop
6:30 - 7:00 pm Synchronized Slip-n-slides
7:00 - 7:30 pm Egg Toss Javelin
7:30 - 8:00 pm Co-Ed Twister (clothing optional)
The other new event we're now able to confirm is the DJ / karaoke on Friday night at the camp grounds. Just like all previous years, we'll have a huge party Friday & Saturday but this year we'll have the DJ both nights.
As to the 2012 tournament, it will be open to men’s & women’s social sides with 32 men’s teams and 20 women’s team. A listing of the confirmed teams for this year are shown below. On top of the tournament, it’s another year of rafting, slip-n-slides, co-ed showers, 80 kegs, and a really loud bomb!

Lodging
As always, all participants should plan to camp (RV’s & campers are welcome) at the tournament site on Friday & Saturday. The tournament site will house 5 fields, a HUGE camping area, large swimming pond, showers, & stage. Within a 5-min drive of the tournament site is Walmart, gas stations, several fast food restaurants, etc. No pets, camp fires, fireworks, or weapons are allowed at the tournament site. The camp site is open to setup camp anytime after noon on Thursday.
Thursday Night Pre-Welcome Party
While the official tournament welcome party is Friday night at the tournament site, Nooga Rugby is also hosting a pre-welcome party in downtown Chattanooga on Thursday night for those of you who come into town early for the rafting trip. The party will start at our home bar, "Mike's Hole in the Wall" at 6:30 pm and include one (1) free keg. Once the free keg is kicked, you're on your own but the good news is that Mike's sells some of the cheapest beer in town. Our best guess is that we'll start there and after a few hours we'll bar hop our way through the rest of downtown Chattanooga. Any an all Pitch A Tent participants are encouraged to attend, whether your going rafting or not. Here are the details:
