Paul Izzard struck once in each half with Peter Shanks scoring a screaming volley in between to clinch the 3 points for the Cherries as they made it 3 wins in a row.
Cherries were missing Mark Kirby, Robbie Farrington, Aaron Davidson and Darryl Mcmurray. Returning to the starting line up was Andrew Pettit and Mark Abbs with Chris Smith on the bench waiting to make his debut.
Cherries started extremely well with Edd and Joe Junkovic both going close early on.
In the 20th Minute the break through, Ardened skipped past a couple of players down the left before crossing for Peter Shanks to smash a volley into the corner of the net! 0-1
Edd and Saud were causing the Comberton back four all sorts of problems and it wasnt long before Cherries made it 2!
Some good work down the left again, this time Joe Junkovic, and he crossed for Paul Izzard who neatly headed into the corner of the net! 0-2
Drew had to be alert just before half time, as Comberton came close with a couple of efforts but in truth Cherries were to top of their game and shoulw have been a few more goals in front.
HT - 0-2
The second half started a very slow pace and everytime Comberton tried to push forward the Cherries back four, who were superb all game, stopped them in their tracks.
Mark Abbs, who was returning to the team after a 2 week absence, was pulling the strings in the middle of the park and it just seemed like a matter of time before Cherries got their 3rd.
A mixture of wasteful finishing and bad luck stopped the Cherries from increasing their lead, Edd Rolph and Saud both going close to scoring.
Chris Smith came onto make his debut, replacing Andrew Pettit.
In the 65th minute the 3rd goal arrived. A ball into the box was over head kicked back by Saud and Izzard headed in his second. 0-3
Rod replaced Saud and Tom Tarrant replaced Izzard as Cherries cruised to victory and continued their quest for promotion to the permier!
A very good performance by the Cherries, some very good individual performances.
MOM is a joint one which goes to the goalscorers Paul Izzard and Peter Shanks. Paul worked very well in the middle with Mark Abbs and always looked like scoring. Peter Shanks seems to have got a new lease of life at centre back and looked rock solid alongside captain Kenny Smith.
