I'm delighted to announce that our application to the Rugby Football Foundation Groundmatch Scheme has been successful. This has generated for the club just under £5,000 to cover half the costs of purchasing the lighting towers and the ramp.
To provide you with a bit of background to the scheme, the Groundmatch Scheme provides easy-to-access grant funding for capital projects which contribute to the recruitment and retention of community rugby players. A list of projects which qualify for a grant (‘Qualifying Projects’) is given in the Guidance Notes but the list is not exhaustive. Clubs at level 5 and below can apply for between £1,500 and £5,000 on a matched £ for £ basis.

The committee are delighted with the result and I'm extending my grateful thanks to Jonathon Stephen and Andy Smith who worked along side our Regional Development Officer Melanie Lilley, with regards to processing the successful application.

This enables us to invest additional resources in other areas and will help our club to grow and improve. With regards to the future development for the clubhouse and pitches we will keep you all updated over the next couple of months.
