Chester booked a Cheshire Cup semi-final date with New Brighton with a comprehensive 113 run win over Elworth at Filkins Lane.

Skirting the rain for a second day, Chester put together 220-8 from 43 overs, a decent score in difficult conditions, with Jack Williams hitting a fine 58. Alex Money made 46 and Harry Killoran 32. Steve Morgan was the pick of the Elworth bowlers with 5-40 from his 9 overs.

Alex Banks (24) and Russell Ballard (25) managed an opening stand of 41 for the visitors but they struggled after that, Williams (5-26( and Killoran (5-21) capping fine all-round performances. Elworth finished on 107.

Chester will now take on New Brighton at Filkins Lane on Sunday 25 August.
