The Championship returns to Filkins Lane. Here's how the second half of the season played out...

Halfway house and it's just one loss for Chester - in the first game of the season at home to Toft. Over the 11 games, it's eight wins, one draw and two rained-off cancellations. They sit proudly at the top of the table with Alderley Edge and Neston the main challengers...

12. Toft (A) - won by 6 wickets
Revenge after the first game of the season. McCormick and Williams take three wickets each as Toft muster 118 on a rain affected pitch. Moore blasts an unbeaten 62, Killoran finishes on 34* It's now a 21 point lead over Alderley Edge.

13. Cheadle (H) - won by 110 runs
A double whammy as Alderley drop points and the lead goes to 30 after a convincing win. Moore makes 94, Goodwin 62, Money 43 as Chester hit 262-7. The spinners lick their lips on a turning pitch and Williams takes 3-44 and Killoran 3-55.

14. Nantwich (A) - lost by 63 runs
Defeat to the Dabbers in a low scoring one. It's a damp pitch and Nantwich recover from 96-6 to 179. Fleet takes 3-47, Killoran 3-22 and the returning McCormick grabs a couple. Chester's response falters against a strong attack. Goodwin top scores with 34 and with Alderley also losing, the lead is now 30 points.

15. Neston (H) - cancelled
Rain, rain go away. Come back another day.

16. Marple (A) - won by 8 wickets
Back in business with a big away win. Fleet excels with 3-23 and Williams takes 3-57 in Marple's 134. Chester cruise to 135-2, Moore making 59, Goodwin 46.

17. Timperley (H) -won by 6 wickets
Rain skirts the City so it's a quick no-nonsense display. Timperley are restricted to 104, Aspin shines with 3-28, Killoran takes 3-31. With an eye on the weather, Aspin comes in early and blasts 65 as Chester wrap it up in 20 overs. It's now a 35 point lead over second placed Neston.

18. Widnes (A) - lost by 1 wicket
It's a dramatic last over defeat as fortune favours a brave Widnes in a reduced overs game. 12 points though now means a 32 point lead as results elsewhere are favourable. Chester make 172, Goodwin 67 and Wyatt a valuable 22*. Widnes slip to 0-1 and Fleet takes 4-27 but the hosts scramble over the line for a memorable win.

19. Alderley Edge (H) - won by 6 wickets
The performance of the season as Chester dig deep against a side including Lancashire's Stephen Parry. An absent Crawley and Dixon mean Vickery and Evans are drafted in. It's 5-68 for Fleet as Alderley hit 232-9 and Killoran leaves the field with a hand injury. The reply falters but turns with Money stepping up, aided by a confident Vickery who gets his highest 1st XI score (42). Evans excels with 22* and Money ends unbeaten on 98 to see Chester over the line.

Whisper it quietly, but a Chester win next week and Neston falling short mean it's in the bag...

20. Grappenhall (A) - won by 8 wickets
Chester secure the title against relegated Grappenhall. The hosts recover from 0-2 to make 164-7 in a reduced overs game. There's two wickets each for Williams and Fleet as the usual high standard of fielding goes awry although there's a catch-of-the-season contender from Money. Moore makes 53 and Goodwin ends unbeaten on 71 as the corks pop.

21. Hyde (H) - won by 4 wickets
The league title's presented and then it's a low scoring win. Aspin takes 3-14 and Williams 3-39 as Hyde total 107. Alex Money holds his nerve at 46-5 to make 40 before number seven, Goodwin, along with Wyatt tidy things up.

22. Oulton Park (H) - won by 7 wickets
Chester chase down 172 to complete a successful season. Kegg reappears for another farewell and Fleet takes 3-28. Aspin is then in a hurry with a rapid 73 and Money signs off a decent year with 35* aided by the returning Crawley, 48*.

Chester take the title by a record 77 points, beating Bowdon's previous best of 62. Three defeats across the season. It's a year when Money comes of age, Fleet blossoms, Killoran and Williams reinforce their status as do Goodwin and Moore. Aspin works out well, McCormick lands well and Wyatt returns from injury.

We'll bring you the stats next...
