Chester and Nantwich must meet again after this Round 1 Royal London Trophy game was abandoned three overs into the second innings.
The visiting Dabbers won the toss and having put Chester into bat, Ollie Law (24) and Warren Goodwin built a decent base before Law departed with the score on 46.
Goodwin continued his excellent early season form with 64 as he and Rick Moore (37) added 85. A mature 46 from Alex Money bolstered the back end of the innings and Chester closed on 245-9. Ollie Griffiths took 2-35 and Mitchell Spencer 2-38.
Having started the game in bright sunshine, the umpires had no choice to take the players off the field after just three overs of the Nantwich innings with thunder and lightning all around the ground. Eventually the rain then took over and the sides will meet again in two weeks.
