4-12 for Killoran
After their opening day loss, Chester bounced back with a big win over Nantwich, the 2018 champions.
It was a hard earned victory achieved through sound application with some fine individual performances.
Very much a case of Chester spin v Nantwich pace, the former won the day. Chester, having been put into bat, recovered from a poor start to eke out 209-7. That looked some way off at 5-2 with Warren Goodwin and Jamie Crawley out cheaply but skipper Rick Moore - who's had a fine start to the season - and Alex Money (24) steadied the ship against a bristling Jimmy Warrington who bowled as well as ever to earn figures of 4-33 from 17 overs.
Wickets continued to fall around Moore but at 88-5, he and Lloyd Aspin (28) added 45 for the sixth wicket and a spirited 38 not out from Jack Williams boosted the score with Moore last man out for a composed 79.
On a bitter afternoon in the field, things soon warmed up as the Dabbers' reply slipped to 16-4 with Alex Kegg (2-11) and Aspin (3-27) doing the damage. The big guns weren't firing with the bat and it was only opener Steve Rimmer (48), and Ryan Brown (19) who reached double figures as the spinners took over and Harry Killoran bagged 4-12.
