Grappenhall 164-7, CBH 165-2. Chester won by 8 wickets
Rick Moore's Chester side can stop looking over their shoulder as they took the 2019 Premier League Championship title with another win on the road.
Their eight wicket win over Grappenhall combined with Neston drawing at Hyde ensured they now cannot be caught, with two games left against Hyde and Oulton Park.
Moore's first season in charge has been successful since the off with the side still progressing in two cup competitions - the Cheshire Cup and Liverpool Echo KO Trophy - with two weeks of the season remaining.
The latest win over already relegated Grappenhall was straightforward although Chester ended up chasing more than seemed likely when the home side were reduced to 0-2 early on.
Ian Wright (69), Albert Pennington 34 and Ben Bodha 45 ensured a reasonable total of 164 in a game reduced to 38 overs a side. While Chester's bowling was tidy, with Jack Williams taking 2-46 and Charlie Fleet 2-35 , the normal slick fielding was below par at times.
But any worries about chasing down the total soon evaporated as Moore and Warren Goodwin set about the chase with relish. Moore was first out for 53 to an excellent catch at extra cover before Alex Money - warming up for his Cheshire debut on Sunday - added a sprightly 29.
Goodwin enjoyed himself to end on an unbeaten 71 leaving he and Moore both chasing 1,000 runs for the season in the final two games. Moore has 830 and Goodwin 727.
As skipper and Money exited for a three day county game in Oxfordshire, Chester could sit back and reflect on another successful season with all four teams still looking to add further silverware.
