Chester Gladiators kicked off the summer training schedule with a fantastic evening of training across the whole club from our little under 8s all the way to the Masters training on multiple pitches across our home facilities of the Cheshire County Sports Club.

Training started at 5:30pm with our youngest age group where their skill development in such a short period of training has been amazing and they are nearly ready to start playing fixtures and starting their Rugby League journey.

Our Under 12s and 14s were next on the training rota and ahead of the opening fixture for the Under 14s this weekend they looked strong and starting to play free flowing heads up rugby league which is encouraging and bodes well for their rugby league development and maturity.

Half way through the evening we were joined by Rugby league legend Adrian Morley who is the Brand Ambassador at our new kit provider for Open Age and Under 14's Optimum Sport. Adrian handed the kits to each of our Under 14s players and stayed for pictures with our open age captains and sponsors.

Our Open Age and masters wrapped up the evening with nearly 50 players training across 2 pitches all in a covid safe environment following the RFL guidelines for Return to Play.

League games for the Open Age and under 14s are scheduled to commence this weekend with the Open Age planned to host Leigh East A at the Cheshire on Saturday currently no spectators are allowed due to Co-vid restrictions. The Under 14's are due to travel to Burtonwood Bridge on Sunday to kick off their league campaign.
