Gladiators hold on to claim first win

Chester Gladiators overcame South Ribble Rabbitohs 34-30 in a thrilling contest in North West Men's League Division Four.
The new look Gladiators have had a tough start to the campaign with four straight losses, but produced a determined performance to take maximum points at The Cheshire County Sports Club.
Sam Hudson grabbed the decisive score late on, crashing over the whitewash after a barnstorming run from Chris Jones to give Chester the lead after South Ribble had drawn level at 30-30 with five minutes left on the clock.
Man of the match Bryn Hargreaves had earlier crossed for two tries before turning provider to send John Lightfoot over with further scores from Mark Kingsley and Damien Tierney.
Chester now have a break from action until the visit of Saddleworth Rangers on Saturday 27th April, when the club's Masters team will also be in action against Leyland Warriors.
