Welcome to Chester Rugby Squash and Racketball Club

Membership

We have about 75 members of various standards ranging from beginners through to County, and all ages. Squash and Racketball membership is £135 per annum (£60 for juniors), which is Chester RUFC membership, so in addition to squash, this allows you access to all Rugby Club events and matches (except 1st XV). The membership year runs from 1st August, but we discount this pro-rata when new members join mid-year. Existing members of CRUFC can use the squash courts at no extra cost (apart from the court cost).

New members are welcome to come along to a few club sessions before committing to membership.

Facilities

There are 3 courts, including one glassback with spectator seating. Members have their own key and can play any time.

Courts cost £4 for a 40 minute session (ie £2 per person). Court lights are activated by one-time use light cards that are purchased from the club bar or some committee members. You just put them in the meter and you get 20 minutes of light.

Activities

We have Squash Club sessions every Monday evening (7-9) and Saturday afternoon (4-6). These are drop in sessions where people turn up and play whoever is there, for 3 games, on a rotating basis. In that way people play a range of players and you can play for up to 2 hours. In the summer (and in the winter on the few occasions when there are no league matches) we also do Thursday evenings (7-9). Cost is £3 per session.

Teams

We have 4 teams that compete in the Northwest Counties Squash League (Divisions 2, 3, 4, and 5) every Thursday evening from late Sept to early April, and also one team in the Welsh League Division 1 that plays at home on alternate Tuesday evenings. We also compete in a less formal Summer League on Thursday evenings from May to July.

Coaching

Group coaching is available on Saturday morning from 0930 to 1030 for juniors, beginners and improvers (£5 for adults, £3 for juniors).

One to one coaching is available by arrangement with Rachael Chadwick, our professional who plays on the womens’ professional circuit, and Robbie Blair. Both are qualified coaches.
