A beautiful morning of rugby, not too cold (yet) and dry! The boys put in a solid performance today against a free flowing N-B side.

Ben stepped up as Captain today, supported by both Charlie (forwards) and Haydn (Backs).
The pack of forwards were fierce with ball in hand and defended strongly. Rucking was a bit hit and miss and the contest over the ball was super aggressive - a pointer for us to keep working on. The scrum seemed to go from side to side with both teams fairly evenly matched - great competition to watch.

The backline did a pretty good job of keeping their width almost letting them through on the outside, but the master of the tap-tackle Mateo and also Billy on the wing managed to keep them out! Haydn controlled the game well at fly-half helping to string a few passes together and good support coming from the team meaning that we were getting over the gain line with good momentum with line breaks leading to several tries (including our debutant Seb).

Overall a great game and performance from the team with the man of the match performance from Ben, leading from the front, smashing through tackles, a few nice “pick and goes” and hitting the rucks - big well done to him.

Thanks to Felix and Jack coming down to support the team whilst injured- great sportsmanship on show!

Hope you enjoyed it and we move on to training next on Wednesday.
