Another good win from the U10's

Chew Valley 29-10 Clevedon / Broad Plain
A really enjoyable and very busy morning at Chew as we entertained one team each from Clevedon and Broad Plain, a team we had never played before, surprisingly given their close location.
Chew once again split into two equal strength teams to play two games each.

Chew Valley Black

Chew Black 6-4 Clevedon
The first game against Clevedon was a tough one as expected. Chew held a sound 5-1 lead at half time and stepped of the pressure. In the second half this allowed Clevedon, with their quick runners to score a few tries back and in the end push us all the way. A key learning for Chew is to maintain concentration whatever the score at half time!

Chew Black 4-1 Broad Plain
Given their sizeable catchment area it was no surprise that Broad Plain had some big kids. BP looked to take the attack up the middle using their bigger players but our strong tackling provided few opportunities for them. Our ability to add width to our play along with excellent support meant that BP were caught out on the flanks.

Some very good play by the Black team: Archie, Peter, Louis, Harvey, Jack, Will S, Jack B, Matty, Ethan
MoM: Louis for being a really annoying open side flanker.

Chew Valley Green

Chew Green 7-4 Broad Plain
This was our first ever match against BP and little were they expecting the expansive game that we play. Although their big players were able to score some good tries against us Chew were able to beat them out wide.

Chew Green 12-1 Clevedon
For their last match Chew Green really turned on the style. Some great lines of running, constant support and great speed at the break down meant that a good Clevedon team could simply not cope with our game. Excellent result.

Superb performance by all in the Green team: Hari for his strong carries, Will K for his straight lines and final distribution, Felix for his strong and decisive running
MoM: Will Windows for his really aggressive tackling which put real pressure on the Clevedon line
