If at first you don't succeed Try, Try, Try, Try, Try, Try, Try, Try, Try, Try, and Try again...............................................

Trys From Jackson Bryant (2), Joe O’Sullivan (2) Ben Mead, Will Rodgers, Max Heron, George Bazley, Anthony Hayward, Danny Ridding and Elliot Matthews, Plus 9 conversions from Danny Ridding, gave Chew a outstanding 0-73 win away at Gordano.
A week after probably their most complete performance to date the boys continued to show that all their hard work and hours of practice were finally paying off, as they reaped the rewards as they ran in try after try against a well spirited Gordano side.

It was a great start for Chew as their pressure from the off produced the first try from Bryant who drove through the Gordano defence to touch down for Chews first try. This was followed 5 minutes later with some great handling and sheer determination from the forwards as they drove the ball towards the line for Bryant to pick and leap over for the teams and his second. Mead was next on the score sheet weaving his way around the Gordano defence for Chews third. Next it was the turn of the backs as they passed the ball fluently through the hands for Rodgers to make it No. 4. More strong play from the forwards produced the final try of the first half and No. 5 in total from a jubilant Heron. With ridding kicking 3 from 5 conversions, the half time whistle blew with the score standing at 0-31.

The half time talk came and went, with more of the same being requested…

From the kick off Chew went straight on the attack and within minutes Bazely darted through and crossed for No. 6. O’Sullivan powered over for the first of his two tries between the posts with No. 7. With Gordano’s heads dropping, Hayward was next after a lovely running move between himself and Finley Voigt as they switched passes twice between them to produced try No. 8. No. 9 came from a weaving run from Ridding which was followed by No. 10 as Matthews powerful run took him over. The final move of the game saw O’Sullivan go over for his second and the teams 11th try, and with Ridding converting all the second half conversions the Final score read Gordano 0 – 73 Chew Valley.

A convincing win, with a performance full of skill, teamwork and character. The Ref who had a great game was full of praise for Chew Valley which was pleasing feedback to receive.

Man of the Match Corey Carter who is improving every game and ran, tackled and rucked well with no individual glory.

A finally a mention must go to Gordano who never gave up and played the game in excellent spirit.

Great team display once again boys. Looking forward to Bath next week…….
