In a thrilling match where the lead changed hands several times, the U16s thought they had scored the winning try late in the second half only to concede it again with just minutes left to play. Inspired after a rallying cry from hooker & flanker Jackson Bryant the U16s chased and regained the kick-off. Will Rogers thought he had grounded the ball and scored the winner, but the referee felt the ball had been held. However, as the brave and skilful visitors from Nailsea & Backwell had infringed during this play, Chew Valley were awarded a final penalty on the 5m line on the right wing. After several phases and waves of attack the ball was finally passed to Will once more, who took the ball at pace, dodged two desperate tacklers and finally grounded the ball for Chew Valley's third and winning try. What a game!
We are looking forward to playing the sporting ravens at their grounds for the return match as games between these two teams have all been good spirited and close games during the last 3 seasons.
