Haywards Heath RFC would like to extend a warm welcome to all involved in today’s Festival.

We look forward to an exciting morning of mini rugby played in the right spirit with all the children involved having an enjoyable experience.

Please find overleaf a map showing you where each pitch is along with the running order for all age groups.

You will all be aware that we are all operating to the new age grade structure which means that we will be running our festival in line with the RFU guidelines. This will, therefore, be a festival played on a round robin basis. For us it is all about having fun, developing players and playing competitive rugby – with teams evenly matched based on ability – something we are particular keen to achieve now.

The RFU regulations mean we have to move away from pure ‘competition’ where there is an overall winner. So, this year, looking to encourage a greater focus on participation rather than winning, we are not going to record any scores. No more issues with missing scores, incorrect scores, moving pools and pitches, etc. Instead we can focus on the playing and getting home at a reasonable time! There will be medals for those in U10 or below.

Coaches and Referees briefing will be held at 9:45am at the respective age group control areas. Please also register your team’s arrival at these control areas.

Can you make your way to the pitches ready for a 10am kick off. Please respect the referee’s decisions which are final! Remember all involved are volunteers that are here to create an enjoyable morning’s rugby for all the children involved. The festival will be finished by 2pm or shortly thereafter.

Club House & Refreshments:
The club house will be open from 9am for refreshments, including hot food and drinks, the bar will open at 11am. Hot food and drinks will also be available next to the pitches. We ask that boots and muddy kit are not worn inside the club house. Toilets can be found in the club house plus a couple of porta loos behind the container on the field.
