All the possession, the better rugby, commitment and team spirit and a victory to show for it. We have deserved that for a while.
From the start we set about Bognor taking the game to them scoring to the right hand side of the posts.
We soon had the ball back in hand and were moving it around nicely only to be intercepted by their fast outside centre who ran in to score a converted try. Suddenly we found ourselves 5-7 behind. But the boys know they were playing the better rugby and scored two more tries to go into half time 15-7 up. In the second half we found it hard to get back into the rhythm of the first making a few wrong decisions and errors. The same centre scored Bognors second to bring it back to 15-12 before we rewarded for all our possession with a try and conversion, but the game was still not over and their was time for the Bognor number 13 to score his hat trick making the final score 22-17.
We should really have been out of sight by half time and could have scored a lot more points but boys heads never dropped and their work rate was superb as was the rugby, it was a hard fought win but a well deserved one which moves us up 3 places in the table. Well done boys.
No training Wednesday.
Sunday 23rd we are hosting Portsmouth at Chichester in a friendly. All boys to arrive for 11.15 for a 12.15 KO
Ethan went off for an xray on his ankle and I am pleased to report no broken bones, he should be fine in a few days if not a little sore.
Have a great week
