Beautiful Sunday morning at Pulborough to start the 2014/2015 campaign. Last year’s encounter was a 5 -5 draw and the match seemed to be set in that mode for the first 20 minutes of the game with both teams having equal opportunities. Following good support play by the pack the ball came left and into the hands of Harry Varnes to score the try. The try converted by Ned. 0-7.
Pulborough can back into the game 3 minutes before half time with a good supporting try which was converted. 7-7.
Following half-time Pulborough took the advantage and ran in a try from 25 metres which was converted. 14-7.
Despite camping out in the Pulborough half for the remaining 22 minutes of the second half we failed to capitalise on the territorial advantage due to the strong defence by the Pulborough side.
