Chichester City Ladies are finding life in the new division a tough ordeal as they slipped to a second consecutive defeat for the first time in three seasons. A relatively short journey within this new division saw Chi Ladies travel away to Ebbsfleet Town on Sunday afternoon. Form from previous results would suggest this would be a close match and it proved to be true.
Both sides started brightly with Chichester winning the battle for possession through some smart passing through the back line and midfield. Chichester's back line saw Richardson return along side Starkey. Through all their good play Chichester failed to threaten the Ebbsfleet goal with exception of a disallowed Shrubb goal. Disaster struck just before the half with Ebbsfleet scoring two quick goals through a couple of sensational passes and cool finishes under pressure.
Chichester rallied at half time and the introduction of Evans and Ogden helped pressurise the Fleet goal. Shrubb had several near misses as the Lilywhites continued to press to no avail. Full time was reached with the Chi Ladies struggling to understand how they walked away from the fixture with nothing. Chichester must now prepare for the long away journey to Ipswich next weekend.
