Chingford Senior Rugby Training and Pre-Season Club & Training Rules
First and foremost we hope all our club members, players, volunteers, coaches and their family members are all well and safe in these challenging times, we appreciate your patience during this time and can finally announce that training sessions can again be held at Chingford RFC.
This announcement is only for the senior teams currently but we will keep all Youth and Mini’s teams informed around when they can start training again at the club and the RFU regulations around how that training will take place.
For all members of the club this has been a trying and incredibly challenging time with all our local clubs being closed no sport to watch on TV and it has left us all felling that we have something missing in our daily lives! NO training has taken place during this period and if you have been following lockdown rules you have managed to get some exercise in and of late been able to throw a ball around with friends. We are so pleased to announce that training can officially start for Senior Teams this week the 7th July at 19:10 and the 9th July 19:10 (there will be no Saturday Training till the regulations are relaxed on the RFU charts), this training will strictly adhere RFU and Government regulations around social distancing as we move through these unprecedented times.
The following regulations will be enforced by the Club so that we keep both players, coaches and volunteers safe during this period. Please read the outlined regulations for training and let’s keep everyone safe by adhering to them. We have all the required PPE in place for player training and keeping equipment clean whilst at training and the club.
Sessions will strictly take place following RFU and Government Guidelines RELEVANT at the time, so these could change at any time please be aware.
- All players and staff to meet relevant social distancing measures at all times whilst onsite.
- All players and to access the club via the car park and NOT through the clubhouse.
- Players are to come dressed as prepared for training as they can there will be no use of the changing facilities.
- All Bags and to be stored outside the clubhouse under the roof, there will be an allocated area. (Any Valuables to be left in the valuables bag with either Felix or Josh form the bar.)
- All players MUST bring their own water and hand sanitiser, to be used before training! (There will be sanitiser provided during training) STRICTLY NO SHARING OF WATER BOTTLES.
- All players will be registered into PODS (groups) and these PODS will then have a coach allocation, social distancing between players and coaches to kept 1,5m at all times.
- Under NO circumstance will any player move, switch BETWEEN PODS / GROUPS, until coaches say they can. This will be based on how the RFU move into the next phases.
- If any player demonstrates symptoms of COVID-19 (Please see below for more information on this) they and all their POD are NOT to attend the club site for 7 days, unless a negative COVID-19 certificate is presented to the Head of Medical Victor Bellamy (Vic).
- All sessions will have buckets with sanitiser in them, for cleaning balls and other equipment during training and after training, including hand sprays for sanitising hands.
- There will be no use BIBS during this period until we move into the next RFU phases.
- All RFU guidelines must be followed and met by all players and coaches, failure to do so will result in an internal investigation and disciplinary action if required.
- The clubhouse will be closed apart from the use of toilets during training, after training if players want to buy refreshments they will have to abide by the clubhouse social distancing rules.
- Toilets can only be used by one person at a time, no more players in the toilet area at any one time.
- Changing rooms will be closed and locked and anyone other than club staff in these areas will be asked to leave and details taken down.
