Volunteer Update - Help Needed

By Matthew Stephen

Please see the below message which has been sent to all CRFC members.

Dear CRFC Member,

Firstly, on behalf of the club, I would like to say thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help the club over the last twelve months. It is no exaggeration to say that without your support the club would be unable to function and as a direct result of your efforts we have been able to continue to provide enjoyment, fun and quality rugby across every section of the club.
These are exciting times for CRFC and we are making good progress towards our vision to become the leading amateur rugby club in the South West. The addition of the AGP, the new facilities provided as part of the Linden Homes project and other forthcoming improvements in the clubhouse will all help us to achieve this aim.

However, the true spirit of a rugby club should not be judged solely by its facilities, at the heart of any rugby club is the friendship, support and enjoyment provided by being an active member of the club and being a part of the wider rugby family.
As you know, we are a club run and managed by volunteers. On the playing side we have members helping at every age level supporting the playing of rugby and making it a success for everyone involved. However, we are now a club of almost a 1000 members and to run a club of this size efficiently we need more volunteers to help support the club in a variety of roles.
So what help do we need?

Do you have some time you could offer the club, or do you know someone who might like to help?
We have the following vacancies now:
Membership Secretary
o To manage the membership process throughout the year
Communication Manager
o To take the lead in co-ordinating the club communications to both the members and other external parties
Club Solicitor
o To support the club in setting up agreements with suppliers and other agents, providing legal support when required
Grounds Chairman
o To manage the external facilities of the club, co-ordinating work teams and managing external suppliers
Sponsorship Chairman
o To lead a team working with our existing sponsors and looking for new sponsors to support the running of the club

Volunteer support (five roles)
o This team of 5 people will support the volunteer co-ordinator across all sections of the club.

We fully appreciate that many of us lead busy lives, but the vacancies above have differing levels of time commitments and so any offer of assistance would be welcomed.

NatWest Rugby Force weekend
This is being held over the weekend of 22nd-23rd June 2019 and as previous years we will have a dedicated project to do at the club - please save this date and help support the club.
It doesn’t matter if it’s an hour or 2 or a whole day, we always appreciate the support of our members on this fabulous weekend.

Volunteer Recognition
We love to recognise the efforts of our volunteers and so we are looking for members to identify their club volunteer of the year which will be awarded at the club ball on the 10th May.
Nomination forms will shortly be available on the website and in the clubhouse

For more information on any of the above or if you have interest in any of the vacancies please contact

Many thanks again to all those volunteers who give up their free time to help the club, you do an amazing job.
