Gentlemen of the thirds took to this Fri fixture with great enthusiasm boosted by numbers, character Ref Bryn and a very capable side currently top! So Bath Saracens kicked off under a crescent moon, mist descending and a expectant crowd waiting to be entertained. The returning Dan Jones however did knock on unlucky but did make amends with a great game. Chippenham pressure Spurway break , Will Summers great pace but ran out of space, line out Gingell finding Adams drive on and Will Summers went blind down the wing try not converted great start. Line out stolen, from the ensuing scrum No 8 Doug Aikman went looking for some face pie great hand off!! First phase so so important and so it would prove with a front row: Bell, Gingell, Harding a match for anyone in this division and higher!! Bath Saracens kicked off with the normal reliable Storey knocking on unlucky, Chippenham cleared their lines post scrum on the half way Cpt Harding was seen to go on a 10 metre rumble good skills skip. Manager Wheeler started the changes with Nickson for Bell at loose head it didn't dent the scrum with Storey/Adams shifting the human sofas around, field possession Mcbibble to make a break , scrum 10 metres out, the dominant pack gave no 8 Doug Aikman an arm chair ride to the line...try time Fielder hitting the post with conversion great striking !! Chippenham kicked to the opposition from broken field possession and poor realignment Bath Saracens winger scored no conversion. Gents replied with the impressive Dan Jones scoring opposition not guarding the breakdown area no conversion Half time 29-5. Great first half replacements: Case for Lewis, Preston for Bell , Goulding for Aikman again both sides having a period of pressure. Gentlemen scrum pressure finally toiled with Bath Sarries loosing a prop so in keeping with spirit of the game and to not go uncontested Bell went on for the opposition but couldn't stop Preston crashing in scoring from a close range ruck no conversion from out wide. Chippenham pressure with back line sublime form Regan, Hanlon breaking out, scrum for Mcbibble going close. . Bath Saracens pressure in gents 22 m Hanlon was tackle with legitimate tackle but impulsive Goulding took offence with a swinging arm Bryn showed him yellow to contemplate life. The returning Case was unlucky not off loading to the supporting Mcbibble "Always easier from the side"... to judge!! Yellow card over Nickson returned Preston to the row, Storey to no 8. Chippenham scrum followed with comedy moment with Preston falling flat out as his feet wouldn't move!! Jack Starling along with his fellow pack member's were putting in a great shift. Chippenham got back on the score board with Darren Mcbibble ghosting out wide as the mist descended in and again Fielder hit the post.
