An 11 try blitz saw Christleton outpower a spirited Park side.

This was a great performance against a Birkenhead Park side with a huge pack & although we ran in 11 tries 9 of which were converted it was the foundation laid by the pack to create quality possession for the backs to exploit the power and pace we have in the backline.

Early warning signs for Park when a great turnover from skipper Ed Bond released Pita to outpace the defence and score, Gary Yates adding the extras for an early 7v0 lead.

Debutant George was the recipient of a well-timed pass from another debutant Matt Ryan to Matty Thomas releasing George to score out wide 12 v 0

A counter from deep saw Gary Yates score a third after some enterprising linking between backs & forwards and shortly afterwards Chris Thompson added the bonus point score and a 26 v 0 lead approaching half time.

Birkenhead Park then took advantage of us switching off and a quickly taken penalty saw their 9 squeezed over in the corner 26 v 5 at Half Time.

Rocks, who was a constant threat throughout the game around the breakdown broke quickly from the base of a ruck to extend the lead, again with Gary Yates adding the extras and 33 v 5

Another turnover and clever offload by Ed Bond released Pita Tamani to score his second and Gary Yates again on target a 40 v 5 lead.

A red card for Parks No 8 for a rather petulant kick further added to their woes and a smart lineout move created space for George to add his second with Ilia Naquisima to add the extras 47 v 5

A barnstorming break by Matt Geary and well-timed pass gave Pita Tamani his third try 54 v 5

Matty Thomas was on hand to take a scoring pass from Ilai Naquisima after great work by Jordan Pearce before Alex Quegan strolled over after taking a pass from Andrew McFarlane another successful debutant and Ilai Naquisima added the final try again after great work across the team and a final score of 73 v 5

Everyone in the squad played a huge part and there were lots of positives from which to build.

Training Thursday under lights at The Cheshire County Sports Club, all welcome.
