Match Report

Cinderford Town FC 3 - 3 Bishops Cleeve FC

With teams winning a point each in a crucial derby game for both clubs, Bishops Cleeve came from behind twice to set themselves up for all 3 points but to be only cancelled out by Cinderfords Ben Davies.

Bishops Cleeve lined up with 4 ex Cinderford players and another on the bench.

Cinderford took the game to cleeve and Jody Bevan headed home to score his 26th of the season, soon after the goal Cleeve started to get themselves in the game but neither team created anything to trouble either keeper.

John Routledge scored right on the half time whistle to deny Cinderford going into the break 1-0 up. Cinderfords Marvin Thompson was substituted before the half time break and Tom Davies came on to replace him.

The second half began as it finished in the first with Cleeve on top, until Ryan Parker came on for Lewis Sommers on 51 and gave Cinderford the outlet that they needed in the first half. Parker was brought down on 59 just outside the box near the flag, Steve Cowe whipped one in for Dan HEATH to head home to put Cinderford 2-1 up.

Bishops Cleeve manager Paul Collicut then sent on ex Cinderford Striker Gareth Hopkins, who after being on the pitch 2 minutes levelled the score from great play by Bishops Cleeve, from then onwards the game became more open and both teams started to play football.

On 88 minutes ex Cinderford winger Ben Gascoyne thought he had scored the winner but only 60 seconds later Cinderfords Neil Griffths throws in a brilliant flighted throw in for Dan Harrision to head on to Ben Davies who scored the equaliser.

Cinderford then had a late penalty shout but it was turned down by the referee and gave a free kick for a foul on Richard Mansell.
