I am sorry to report that CS Stags 1863 have had to withdraw from the semi-finals against Launceston away, Saturday 29 April 2023. This follows the rejection of our application and subsequent appeal to the RFU and competitions development rules team for registering and fielding two medical joker front rows for the game tomorrow. We were not able to proceed with the match fielding inadequate front row cover, which would have been detrimental to the safety of both teams. This is truly disappointing, as the entire team were eager and prepared for the match, and travel had already been arranged. Launceston RFC have been extremely understanding, and we wish them well in the final.
May I take this opportunity to congratulate and thank the entire squad and coaching staff for the excellent run of two superb wins leading up to our semi-final place, and their performances have instilled great pride throughout the entire club. We look forward to meeting up again in a fortnight for our club 160th Anniversary Dinner, and celebrating this season.
